by Hannah Smith November 7, 2018
    November 7, 2018

I survived my first week back at work after travelling through Vietnam and Cambodia for almost a month. This is how my first week went: Monday: anxiety is neck-level, but I’ve got my holiday glow on and it’s not so…

    Déjà vu all over again

by Hannah Smith October 28, 2018
    October 28, 2018

Ah, here I am again. Anxious as all hell about returning to work and training, approximately six kilos heavier (legit), and with a weird rash under my left arm that mysteriously appeared whilst in Vietnam. I’m contemplating the theory that…

The Chronicles of JosHan: Hoi An

by Hannah Smith October 2, 2018
    October 2, 2018

It’s a weird sort of feeling, finally writing the last in the series of 10 chronicles only hours before I get on a plane to head back to the wondrous worlds of Vietnam and Cambodia. It’s only taken me a…

(spoilers ensue).

I don’t know what your thoughts were on this book, but I devoured it in a day so🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes - the female lead is positively perfect in every way, with a disposition so sweet that you just KNOW she’s going to attract the complete opposite in a man.

And yes - the male lead is ridiculously perfect in every way. He’s successful, wealthy and obnoxious. He does the whole “I hate everyone except her” thing and naturally, he’s a stud in bed. Like, he can go for HOURS and has the FILTHIEST mouth and you’re like sureeee mate.

But … I WAS HERE FOR IT ALL🔥🔥

Give me the alphahole, millionaire, ice-king, steam to the billionth degree, morally grey, grumpy/sunshine, possessive and toxic tropes any day of the week💅🏼

Be sure to check the trigger warnings before diving into this one.

I used to think practicing gratitude was lame. Eve I used to think practicing gratitude was lame. Even now, when I hear people talk about it, sometimes my reaction is: Okay🙄

But it DOES help me, especially when things get stressful or I’m overwhelmed. When I think I’m out of my depth, or I start comparing my journey to someone else’s, or I start fretting about the future … taking a moment to be grateful for what I have and how far I’ve come, brings me calm.

I try and do this every time I sit on the beach, cos I am LUCKY to live where I live. It might be hippy and uncomfortable for some of us, but I recommend taking a few minutes each day to do it.

Do you actively practice gratitude? Do you journal or meditate or sit with it?✨
