    Here’s to new beginnings

by Hannah Smith September 22, 2022
    September 22, 2022

Yesterday marked the first day of unemployment for yours truly. Well, not exactly. Technically, I’m on annual leave for a couple of weeks and then my contract officially ends. I’ll be paid out some long service leave and then officially, I’m…

    February feels

by Hannah Smith March 2, 2021
    March 2, 2021

February was a rollercoaster month of emotions.  For starters, I missed out on a self-publishing course by a few minutes and I had an actual meltdown. I received feedback from my beta readers. It was a daunting experience. I couldn’t…

Never judge an entrepreneur by their cover

by Hannah Smith June 13, 2019
    June 13, 2019

I went to an Entrepreneur Summit a couple of months ago. If you’re anything like me, you screwed your face up at the very mention of the word ‘entrepreneur’. I think I have come to loathe that word because it…

I went stand-up paddle boarding and didn’t die

by Hannah Smith January 6, 2019
    January 6, 2019

I went stand-up paddle boarding for the first time today. IKR. The activity that people have been doing since the 1940s; the one that people do with their dogs onboard; the one that apparently even the most balanced-challenged have been…

    Déjà vu all over again

by Hannah Smith October 28, 2018
    October 28, 2018

Ah, here I am again. Anxious as all hell about returning to work and training, approximately six kilos heavier (legit), and with a weird rash under my left arm that mysteriously appeared whilst in Vietnam. I’m contemplating the theory that…

What to do when you get a train strain

by Hannah Smith September 10, 2018
    September 10, 2018

I recently took a week off from training. I was so stressed out about a launch at work, my eye twitch was out of control and I was sick of not having enough time for things I wanted to do,…

by Hannah Smith July 27, 2018
    July 27, 2018

    Nothing changes if nothing changes

by Hannah Smith July 15, 2018

I was getting so sick of myself, I decided to take some drastic measures. By drastic, I mean: I needed to do something that would stop me from eating like a god damn horse and get my health in motherfucking…

by Hannah Smith May 1, 2018
    May 1, 2018

Ever had the dilemma of vomiting and shitting simultaneously? It’s a fun time. The letter from the hospital to my GP officially said gastroenteritis. My doctor at the ED said there was no real way to be certain exactly what…

For anyone going through a a difficult time right For anyone going through a a difficult time right now, whether it be a rough patch, a life-changing experience, a plateau … anything. May this be a reminder that you are capable of amazing things, and it’s okay if things don’t always go to plan. It’s okay if things get put on hold.

Life will throw all sorts of things our way. If you have to take a break from the work right now, don’t worry. It’ll be here when you get back. Take care of yourself first💫

My partner reminded me last night that it’d been My partner reminded me last night that it’d been a year since Hazy Love was released.

A whole year.

Reminiscing brought on a lot of feelings that I’m still processing, hence the late post. I’m proud of what I’ve achieved, but disappointed that my second book is still not out. Being a slow writer leads to a constant battle of emotions and I’m still figuring out how to not beat myself up.

At the end of the day, despite the struggles, I’m grateful. Thank you to every single person who’s shared, liked, bought, borrowed and reviewed my debut novel. It means more than you know✨
