A quick guide to visiting one street in Mooloolaba

by Hannah Smith October 1, 2020
    October 1, 2020

Given the shitshow that has been the year 2020, I feel very lucky to have managed a lovely, albeit brief, getaway. My partner and I decided to spend four nights in Mooloolaba, Queensland. We chose somewhere within driving distance because…

Never judge an entrepreneur by their cover

by Hannah Smith June 13, 2019
    June 13, 2019

I went to an Entrepreneur Summit a couple of months ago. If you’re anything like me, you screwed your face up at the very mention of the word ‘entrepreneur’. I think I have come to loathe that word because it…

    Restaurant Review: room81

by Hannah Smith March 24, 2019
    March 24, 2019

I decided to take my partner to a fine-dining restaurant for his birthday recently. Anyone that knows Josh, would know that he’s a birthday-month kind of man and he loves to celebrate BIG. I decided to spoil him (and myself)…

I think my anxiety has become my security blanket

by Hannah Smith November 9, 2018
    November 9, 2018

I read an article a couple of days ago about a high-profile Sydney GP who said millennials need to “buck up and get on with it”, referring to the nationwide anxiety epidemic amongst youth in Australia. Ironically enough, that gave…

by Hannah Smith June 28, 2018

FYI: You’re allowed to have anxiety and enjoy your life

by Hannah Smith June 14, 2018
    June 14, 2018

Some days I worry that I talk and write about my anxiety too much. Ha. Imagine that. Me getting worried about something. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ My dad from time-to-time has said to me, my mum and anyone else who’s been overreacting that we’re…

I got anxiety for my birthday

by Hannah Smith May 8, 2018
    May 8, 2018

So it’s my birthday week. Not that I believe in birthday weeks (or months as some others might). I’m more of a singular-day-of-minor-celebrations kind of girl. This year however, I’ve somehow got plans almost everyday of said “birthday week”, including…

Sometimes life makes you vomit up your internal organs

by Hannah Smith May 1, 2018
    May 1, 2018

Ever had the dilemma of vomiting and shitting simultaneously? It’s a fun time. The letter from the hospital to my GP officially said gastroenteritis. My doctor at the ED said there was no real way to be certain exactly what…

There were maggots in my kitchen

by Hannah Smith February 11, 2018
    February 11, 2018

Yes, you read that correctly. Sunday did not quite end how I planned (with a cup of tea prior to a power nap in the air-con). I went to prepare overnight oats and instead I found maggots and weird moths…

(spoilers ensue).

I don’t know what your thoughts were on this book, but I devoured it in a day so🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes - the female lead is positively perfect in every way, with a disposition so sweet that you just KNOW she’s going to attract the complete opposite in a man.

And yes - the male lead is ridiculously perfect in every way. He’s successful, wealthy and obnoxious. He does the whole “I hate everyone except her” thing and naturally, he’s a stud in bed. Like, he can go for HOURS and has the FILTHIEST mouth and you’re like sureeee mate.

But … I WAS HERE FOR IT ALL🔥🔥

Give me the alphahole, millionaire, ice-king, steam to the billionth degree, morally grey, grumpy/sunshine, possessive and toxic tropes any day of the week💅🏼

I used to think practicing gratitude was lame. Eve I used to think practicing gratitude was lame. Even now, when I hear people talk about it, sometimes my reaction is: Okay🙄

But it DOES help me, especially when things get stressful or I’m overwhelmed. When I think I’m out of my depth, or I start comparing my journey to someone else’s, or I start fretting about the future … taking a moment to be grateful for what I have and how far I’ve come, brings me calm.

I try and do this every time I sit on the beach, cos I am LUCKY to live where I live. It might be hippy and uncomfortable for some of us, but I recommend taking a few minutes each day to do it.

Do you actively practice gratitude? Do you journal or meditate or sit with it?✨
