Writer’s block: when your imaginary friends won’t talk to you

by Hannah Smith October 10, 2017
    October 10, 2017

Writer’s block can EAD. I’ve been stuck in a rut with my writing (with lots of things actually, but let’s stick with writing for the sake of everyone’s sanity). I’ve had several people ask me when my next blog post…

Because I’m all about that weight, anxiety and good memories

by Hannah Smith September 23, 2017
    September 23, 2017

So, I’ve gained at least five kilos over my holiday. And let me tell you, it’s not muscle or water-weight. It’s beer-bacon-carb-weight. As I type this, I am pool-side. You’re welcome. The South China sea is to my right and…

Just a cheeky eight week re-cap

by Hannah Smith September 4, 2017
    September 4, 2017

You know what I’ve learnt? You can’t get your dream body and drink beer every weekend. Soz guys. I started out strong, eating clean and resisting beer, and I saw the positive effects immediately. This isn’t new information – if…

    Love is love: marriage equality

by Hannah Smith August 9, 2017
    August 9, 2017

If marriage equality bothers you, don’t marry someone of the same sex. Simple pimple. Lord, give me strength. While it hasn’t been formally launched, it looks like we’re having a $122 million dollar postal ballot. A voluntary, expensive AF postal…

    July 25, 2017

You know what I did on the weekend? Got absolutely bbbllliiinnnnndddddd. On a fitness journey to make smarter, more healthy choices, and I end up sinking a bazillion frothies and five espresso martinis on a Saturday night, falling asleep on…

    Turn off the Bitch Switch

by Hannah Smith February 12, 2015
    February 12, 2015

This one is for the ladies. Girls, it’s time to turn off the bitch switch. I am sick of seeing and hearing comments from girls bringing other girls down. Mainly on social media. It’s like a god damn epidemic. And…

    Make jokes, not war

by Hannah Smith September 2, 2014

by Hannah Smith July 22, 2014
    July 22, 2014

Don’t scoff too loudly. Being in my mid-20s and currently going through a life crisis of “what the hell am I doing with my life?” – I know that it’s a legitimate thing. I have been struggling with this question…

For anyone going through a a difficult time right For anyone going through a a difficult time right now, whether it be a rough patch, a life-changing experience, a plateau … anything. May this be a reminder that you are capable of amazing things, and it’s okay if things don’t always go to plan. It’s okay if things get put on hold.

Life will throw all sorts of things our way. If you have to take a break from the work right now, don’t worry. It’ll be here when you get back. Take care of yourself first💫

My partner reminded me last night that it’d been My partner reminded me last night that it’d been a year since Hazy Love was released.

A whole year.

Reminiscing brought on a lot of feelings that I’m still processing, hence the late post. I’m proud of what I’ve achieved, but disappointed that my second book is still not out. Being a slow writer leads to a constant battle of emotions and I’m still figuring out how to not beat myself up.

At the end of the day, despite the struggles, I’m grateful. Thank you to every single person who’s shared, liked, bought, borrowed and reviewed my debut novel. It means more than you know✨
